Request a scoping call

Tell us about your organisation and the outcome you are aiming for. We will come back with a sensible first step and a clear scope.

Advisors preparing for a scoping conversation
A short, focused call is usually enough to shape a sensible first step.

What happens next

We read every request personally. Within a couple of business days we reply with either a couple of clarifying questions or a proposed scope, including what we would look at first and roughly how long it would take. There is no obligation, and no sales sequence — just a practical conversation about the problem in front of you.

What helps us prepare

  • Your organisation’s size and sector, in general terms.
  • The outcome you care about most right now.
  • Any constraints: timelines, budget shape, internal capacity.
  • Whether a platform decision is part of the picture.

What we will ask you

A scoping call is a working conversation, not a pitch. We will ask what outcome you are aiming for, how you would know it had been achieved, who else needs to be involved, and what has already been tried. We will ask about your timeline and the shape of your internal capacity. And we will ask what would make this project fail, because knowing the likely obstacles at the start is the surest way to avoid them.

What you will get from the call

By the end of a short conversation you should have a clearer idea of the problem, a suggested first step, and a rough sense of how long it would take. Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need us yet, and we will say so. We would rather point you in the right direction than take on work that is not ready.

How we scope an engagement

After the call we send a short written scope: the outcome, the activities, the people we would need to involve, and the way we would know it was working. There is no obligation to proceed, and no pressure to expand the scope later. If the first step goes well, we plan the next one together.

Accessibility and preferences

If it is easier for you to speak by phone, we are happy to do so. If you would rather correspond in writing, that works too. If any part of this process is hard to use, tell us at [email protected] and we will adapt.

Timing expectations

Most scoping conversations happen within a week of a request, and small engagements can often begin within two or three weeks. Larger programmes need a little more preparation, which we plan with you rather than impose. Where a start date is genuinely tight, we will say early whether we can meet it honestly.
